The Discalced Carmelites follow the General Roman Calendar along with the rest of the Church however we also have our own Proper Calendar which is supplemental for us. The Proper Calendar includes all Carmelite solemnities, feasts and memorials that are unique to the Order.
In accord with the Proper Calendar, and to more properly celebrate our saints and blessed, the Discalced Carmelite Order also has its own Proper of the Liturgy of the Hours, Missal and Lectionary, which is approved by the Holy See.
Our saints and their wealth of spiritual teaching are in integral part of our spiritual patrimony. We desire to honor them fervently and seek their intercession assiduously. Our saints reveal to the world the fruitfulness of our charism as a proven path to holiness in the Church.
